TAB was founded in 1965 as one of the companies belonging to the Rudnik Mežica Holding, in a region where lead processing has been conducted for 350 years. For the first 15 years, TAB produced under the license of the Swedish company TUDOR. After 1980, the company launched its own research and development department, which led to the production of all types of lead-acid batteries, VRLA batteries with valve regulation in AGM technology, and VRLA Gel batteries, produced in three modern, computerized factories employing about 1,300 workers across four locations.

At the first location in Žerjav, Slovenia, there is an industrial battery factory with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million cells for traction and stationary batteries.

At the second location in Črna na Koroškem, Slovenia, there is a factory for Topla, TAB, TAXXON, and Volthor starter batteries, with an annual production capacity of 3.0 million units.

At the third location in Žerjav, Slovenia, there is a recycling plant that annually produces about 30,000 tons of soft lead from 60,000 tons of used batteries and accumulators.

At the fourth location in Probishtip, Macedonia, there is a factory producing 1.5 million starter batteries per year, along with a recycling plant that annually produces about 5,000 tons of soft lead from 10,000 tons of used batteries and accumulators.

High-quality batteries are produced in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO/TS 16949 standards, recognized worldwide, particularly in Europe, Asia, and America.

TAB produces all types of lead-acid batteries and offers professional after-sales service to meet the needs of its customers. The company’s ambition is to perform better than the competition – in an exceptional way. We aim to achieve a high level of recognition and positive evaluation of the company and its products by customers (buyers and suppliers).
